The date for the Children’s Pageant is June 28 at the Bridgeport Civic Center.
The Queen & Teen Pageant is schedule for June 29 at the Bridgeport United Methodist Church.

6-9pm: Benedum Fellow Awards Banquet at Bridgeport Conference Center, organized by the GFWC Woman’s Club of Bridgeport, speaker fees from The Clarksburg-Harrison Cultural Foundation. Honorees are Barbara Judy, Kelly Nelson and Brad Ford.

Tickets are $25 for the dinner and are available at the civic center, 842-8240.

July 10, Michelob presents Bridgeport 3-Band Jam on Meadowbrook Road, near the mall
4-11pm: Gates open at 4 p.m. Concert begins at 6 p.m. with Dallas Reese of WKKW 97.9, The Davisson Brothers Band, and The Clarks.

Tickets are $10 through Ticketmaster. Project partners are The Greater Bridgeport CVB, Nationwide Tour at Pete Dye and West Virginia Radio, along with The Benedum Festival.

Noon-8pm: Millennium Quilter’s Guild 4th Annual Quilt Show at BHS, $5 admission. Classes by Karen Montgomery, author and fabric designer. Open to any quilters who wish to display their quilts.

4pm: Swopes Family Amusement Carnival opens. $10 wristband provides access to carnival rides and two carnival bouncers. Additional bouncers in field require separate fee.

4:30pm: Opening Ceremony featuring the Sylvan Learning Essay Contest winners, The Presentation of the Queens, Benedum Fellow banquet winners.

5-7pm: Free concert! The 257th Army Band, generously sponsored by The Bridgeport Arts Council.

6:30pm: Children’s Patriotic Parade, organized by the GFWC Jr. Woman’s Club of Bridgeport. Children are encouraged to paint their faces in red, white and blue and decorate their bikes and wagons. Prizes for best costumes.

8pm: Free concert! No Bad Juju, a Pittsburgh-based band that performs a funky mix of horns and pop-rock.

11pm: Park closes

Saturday hours 8:30 a.m.-11 p.m.

7:30am: The Bridgeport Kiwanis Fishing Derby at Deegan Lake. Children compete to snag the biggest fish and win prizes. Bring your tackle boxes.

8:30am: 12th Annual 5K Run at BHS track, organized by Bridgeport Physical Therapy, benefits The Challenger League. Pre-registered runners pay $10, or register at 7:30 a.m. the track $15. T-shirts provided.

9-11am: Pet Parade, organized by Racer’s Pals Dog Agility Club. Pets can compete for trophies in 11 categories. No registration required this year, just get your number and go! Assistance provided by The Greater Clarksburg Kennel Club.

10am: Lion’s Club Chicken Roast, BHS parking lot. Grilled chicken and corn on the cob available until it’s gone.

10am-6pm: Millennium Quilt Show at BHS, $5 admission.

1-4pm: Children’s Party in the Park, sponsored by The Bridgeport Parks and Recreation Department. Free carnival rides for children under age 12 until 4 p.m. Free stage and strolling performances by the Mark Wood Fun Show and Mr. Mike’s Comedy. Free games include sack races, duck pond, water balloon toss, dunking booth, face painting and more!

5-7pm: Free concert! Catch A Wave, oldies music at its best.

7:30-9:30pm: Free concert! Alli Gillis, country classics and hits.

9:30pm: Patriotic Fireworks/laser show. A new event! Sponsored by The Greater Bridgeport CVB.

11pm: Park Closes
